Dog-friendly beaches in Scotland

The dog rules for 109 beaches from Eyemouth round to the Solway, plus the islands, beach by beach. 103 allow dogs all year. Most Scottish councils have no beach dog bans. Instead the Scottish Outdoor Access Code applies: keep dogs under control, and on a short lead near other people and in the bird nesting season. A few places have their own zones, including Aberlady Bay, Broughty Ferry and Aberdeen beach.

Scotland has no council dog orders like England's, and no on-the-spot fines for dog-free areas. Where we found no council rule for a beach, its page says so. Check signs on the day.
